For WordCamp KC , you do not need a physical ticket. The first time you check-in at a WordCamp KC event give your name/ID and you will get a name badge. Use the WordCamp KC name badge to check in for the parties.

Saturday, April 29th
Location: Kauffman Foundation Conference Center
4801 Rockhill Road, Kansas City, MO → Map

  • WordCamp KC day 2 begins at 8am – doors open and check-in begins
  • Continental breakfast is served when doors open
  • Sessions begin in all three WordCamp KC rooms at 9am
  • Morning snacks are served at 9:45am
  • Lunch is served at noon
  • Afternoon snacks are served at 2:45pm
  • Sessions wrap just before 5pm
  • Attendees are on their own for dinner

WiFi at Kauffman Foundation 
The network is kauffman. Connect, then open a browser to accept the terms of use and enter the password that is displayed on the screen. The network uses a self-signed certificate, so you may see an”unsecured” notice. Just click past it.

Saturday Night WordCamp KC Wrap-Party!

The WordCamp KC wrap-party starts at 6pm at Tapcade. 1701 McGee St., Kansas City, MO → Map

Web Works of Kansas City will be buying your 1st Kansas City area brewed beer at the party. Wear your WordCamp KC name badge and find Travis Pflanz at Tapcade to get your Kansas City brew!

We’re not getting a private room for our after-party, so be prepared to stand and mingle.

  • Please sit toward the front of the room at your WordCamp KC session. This shows respect for the speaker – remember, they’re volunteering their time and expertise for free – and it leaves the back of the room open for late-comers to not disturb the ongoing session
  • If you find that a session is not for you, feel free to leave and find a different session to attend

On Tap will be providing some beer and snacks at the party. Wear your WordCamp KC name badge and find Kate Nielsen & the On Tap team at Ruins Pub to get your brews!

What to Expect from a WordCamp

WordCamp Kansas City 2017 is about three weeks away! Do you know what to expect? You can be sure there will be a little bit of everything – other attendees, sensational speakers, networking opportunities, lunch, swag – the usual goodies you’ve come to expect from a professional conference. But WordCamp is a little different in several ways.

Each WordCamp will be different, whether WordCamp Kansas City, or WordCamp St. Louis, or WordCamp Global – this is based on the organizers, speakers and attendees of each event. But there are some general guidelines that all WordCamps follow, as well as some things you can expect at any WordCamp, no matter the home city.
